A family in Urmston, M41, discovered water pouring through their kitchen ceiling light fitting at 9pm on a Sunday evening — about as alarming as a domestic plumbing emergency gets, with live electrics in the path of the water and the prospect of thousands of pounds of ceiling and rewiring damage if it wasn’t stopped fast.
